How this site works

We are not the contractor

Plenty of sites in this market read like a contractor and are not one. We would rather tell you what we are on a page of its own than let you work it out from the small print.

  • Publish the guidance on this site, free to read.
  • Take your enquiry and pass it to one commercial contractor.
  • Keep a record of the enquiry and what you were told.
  • Survey buildings, supply equipment or install anything.
  • Carry out EPC assessments — that needs an accredited assessor.
  • Sell your enquiry to a panel, or resell it afterwards.
  • Charge you anything, at any point.

What happens after you send an enquiry

  1. You send an enquiry The building type, the floor area, the postcode and the rating you are on now. Enough for a contractor to know whether they can help and whether they cover you.
  2. It goes to one contractor A single commercial energy efficiency contractor, matched by postcode. Not a panel, not an auction, and not resold to anyone else afterwards.
  3. They contact you directly From that point the conversation is between you and them. They survey the building and quote you. We are not in the middle of it.
  4. You decide There is nothing to cancel and no obligation. If the numbers do not work, say no.

The company behind the site

Commercial EPC Upgrades is a trading name of HDCH Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 16237398.

We have no financial interest in which products a contractor specifies or what they charge you. We are paid for the introduction, not a share of the job, which means we have no reason to push you towards an expensive measure — and it is why the guidance on this site tells you when lighting is not the answer for your building.

If you want to reach us about anything on this site, including asking us to delete your details, email enquiries@commercialepcupgrades.co.uk or call 07367 293494. Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm.

The questions people actually want answered

Are you a lighting contractor?
No. We publish the guidance on this site and we introduce enquiries to a commercial energy efficiency contractor. We do not survey buildings, supply equipment, install anything or carry out EPC assessments.
How do you make money?
The contractor pays us for the introduction. You pay us nothing, and the fee does not come off your quote as a markup — you are quoted by them on their own terms.
Will I be contacted by lots of companies?
No. Your enquiry goes to one contractor. We do not sell it to a panel and we do not resell it afterwards. That is a deliberate choice: a panel gets you five phone calls and a worse outcome.
What happens to my details?
They go to the contractor so they can quote you, and they are stored so we have a record of the enquiry. The privacy notice sets out the detail, including how to object and how to ask us to delete them.
Can I just go straight to a contractor myself?
Of course, and if you already have one you trust, use them. The guidance on this site is free and useful either way — the cost page and the estimator are written to help you read a quote regardless of who it comes from.
Do you do EPC assessments?
No. An EPC has to be produced by an accredited non-domestic energy assessor, which is a separate role from the contractor doing the installation work. We can point you at the fact that you need one; we cannot carry one out.
